The Story of the PING Program
It's hard to believe "Ping" is almost 30 years old. Like many, ping was one of the first lower level network tracing programs I ever learned to use and even today is still usually the first line of defense in troubleshooting networks. This neat article tells the story of the original ping, what it meant, and it wiggled its way into operating systems everywhere.
